New!! (01/22) Chapel Hill News Editorial. Our first editorial written by the leadership of Advocates for Carrboro Greenways which outlines our committment to preserving the creek through wise stewardship and our commitment to access for all citizens of Carrboro to enjoy this beautiful area.

New!! (01/06) Chapel Hill News summary of the major issues involved with the Greenway. Overall, a good summary with a few errors. The major one and a misquote in a subsequent editorial was corrected here. This clarification reiterates the Town Staff's assesment and interpretation of the Jordan Lake Rules (see "Staff Report on DWQ Processes/Procedures below) that a paved Greenway along the creek is allowable in some areas of the creek.

New!! - (12/15) Various studies of economic benefits of traiis and Greenways. Each references a wealth of other studys by many private, educational and governmental agencies

Arapahoe, Colorado - Survey of economic benefits in Arapahoe, Colorado.

NC Thread Trail - Detailed economic analysis of impact of NC Thread Trail. Econsult Corporation and Greenways, Inc.

Rails To Trails Study - Rails To Trails and Economic Development Paper by Rails to Trails Conservancy.

(12/1) Trail Tread and Trail Surface Presentation to Greenways Commission 2/2009. - Presentation by Chuck Fink of Greenways, Inc,. with some discussion of surfaces and community benefits.

(12/1) Staff report on DWQ processes/procedures - An excellent summary from the town staff of Jordan Lake rules, the process for approval of projects, and timing of reviews. Notice that the Town clearly outlines the applicability of Jordan Lake rules and the process for DWQ approval or disapproval. Greenways are "allowable" under JLR and approval/disapproval will be done on 'case-by-case, site-specific basis.' There is no representations that the Greenway is against JLR or is unapprovable - quite the opposite!  Greenways over sewer lines along creeks are being approved to this day. Raleigh has been operating under very similar Falls Lake Rules for many years and is still approving such projects.
